WHAT HAPPENED WAS… and NEW BORN to Celebrate Understudies with Added Performances
Tickets for both performances are specially priced at $20 when purchased in person at the Minetta Lane Theatre box office
Audible Theater and TOGETHER will celebrate this season’s company understudies Atra Asdou, Sophia Talwalkar, and R.J. Walker with two newly added matinee performances. What Happened Was… on Wednesday, June 3 at 2PM will feature Atra Asdou and R.J. Walker, and New Born on Monday, June 8 at 2PM will feature Sophia Talwalkar, R.J. Walker, and Atra Asdou. The productions are directed by Ian Rickson. Tickets for both performances are specially priced at $20 when purchased in person at the Minetta Lane Theatre box office.
Hugh Jackman said, “Every theatrical performance is built on the extraordinary talent and hard work of understudies, swings and standbys. They are the true definition of “the show must go on”! Marianna, Sepideh, Corey, Cecily and I all agree – we are so proud of Atra, R.J. and Sophia. They are brilliant actors and vital members of our company.”
Atra Asdou, Sophia Talwalkar, and R.J. Walker said, “To be trusted with these performances is incredibly meaningful to all three of us. Eleven performances remain to catch What Happened Was… with Corey Stoll (“Billions”, Appropriate) and Cecily Strong (“Saturday Night Live”), with the run concluding on Sunday, June 14.
Twelve performances remain to catch New Born with Marianna Gailus (Vanya, Hedda Gabler), Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman, and Sepideh Moafi (“The Pitt”), with the run concluding on Monday, June 8.
What Happened Was… and New Born will be recorded and released on Audible at a later date, extending their reach to millions of listeners around the world. Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes is available now on Audible.
