Vocalfest, presented by JazzMobile, kicks off its second weekend this Friday, April 16 and Saturday April 17 at Showman's. Vocalfest, Jazzmobile's month-long celebration, is held in honor of Jazz Appreciation Month. Gregory Generet, a Showman's performer, will frontline Friday's show. Lezlie Harrison will showcase her unique style--70's soul combined with jazz, for Vocalfest's Saturday night performance.

Gregory Generet has performed throughout New York City with sold out shows at Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Highline Ballroom. He has performed in Paris and Italy. Honing his skills along the way with the talented likes of Mike Renzi, Laurence Hobgood, Eric Reed and Onaje Allan Gumbs. After receiving three Emmy Awards for his work at CBS Network, Generet focused on his own work and in 2009 he released his debut CD, (re)Generet-ion. He has re-imaged the term “Standard” by adding his own vocal flexibility and appreciation for the clarity that is innate to Jazz aficionados.

Lezlie Harrison is often heard around New York City in venues like Sweet Rhythm, the Zinc Bar, and the St. Nick's Pub. Harrison also plays frequently at the Jazz Gallery with her own group, as well as The Roy Hargrove Big Band. She was a featured vocalist at the 2007 Charlie Parker Jazz festival, and recently performed at the Catskills Jazz and Rhythm and Blues Festival opening for Cuba Gooding, Sr and the Delfonics. Harrison's other areas of creative performance include theatrical experiences with the Third World Theatre Company in Amherst, Massachusetts, Negro Ensemble Company, New Federal Theatre in New York City, Concrete Temple Theatre and success as an on-air radio personality.

Friday and Saturday night's shows, starring Gregory Generet and Lezlie Harrison, will be held at Showman's located at 375 West 125th St (between St. Nicholas & Morningside), Harlem, NY. Both shows are from 7:00 pm-8:30 pm. Tickets are $10. For more information call JazzMobile, Inc. at (212) 866-4900 or visit www.jazzmobile.org.
