Video: First Look at MRS. CHRISTIE at Milwaukee Repertory Theater
Heidi Armbruster's charming new comedy runs April 14 through May 10, 2026 at the Ellen & Joe Checota Powerhouse Theater.
Milwaukee Repertory Theater has released first look footage of MRS. CHRISTIE, Heidi Armbruster's effervescent new comedy now playing through May 10, 2026 at the Ellen & Joe Checota Powerhouse Theater, in a co-production with Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.
Directed by Joanie Schultz, the play takes inspiration from the real-life 1926 disappearance of Agatha Christie, who vanished for 11 days and reappeared without explanation. A devoted superfan stumbles upon the clues that could finally crack the case, launching a coming-of-age journey of memory and self-discovery. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel called it "the most tantalizing Agatha Christie mystery" and praised it as "surprising and satisfying" and "cheekily magical," while BWW declared it "not a play to be missed."
Alex Keiper leads the cast as Agatha, joined by Matt Bowdren as Archie, Blake Hamilton Currie as William/Collins, Amira Danan as Nancy/Chloe, Zoë Sophia Garcia as Lucy, Dale Hodges as Jane, Betsy Hogg as Charlotte/Mary, and William Sturdivant as Monsieur.
The creative team includes Se Hyun Oh (scenic design), Valérie Thérèse Bart (costumes), Keith Parham (lighting), and Thomas Dixon (sound design and original music), with Shelby Scaffidi serving as stage manager.
MRS. CHRISTIE runs approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes with one intermission and is recommended for audiences 12 and up. For tickets, contact the Milwaukee Rep Ticket Office at 414-224-9490. Ticket Office hours are Mondays noon to 6 p.m. and Tuesday through Sunday noon through evening show time.
