As BWW reported yesterday, MATILDA composer and lyricist Tim Minchin just hosted a question and answer session with The Guardian, during which he discussed his appreciation of Roald Dahl, writing music, and his newest project: a stage adaptation of the Howard Ramis film "Groundhog Day."

When asked about the production of Groundhog Day, Minchin revealed that they had just finished the first workshop of the show on Saturday in London. "I'm incredibly impatient to see it on it's feet," he said.

Minchin recently performed "Seeing You," a song from the musical, at London's Hyde Park. Check out the performance below!

Groundhog Day was a 1993 American fantasy comedy film directed by Harold Ramis, starring Bill Murray, Andie MacDowell, and Chris Elliott. It was written by Ramis and Danny Rubin, and was based on a story by Rubin.

Murray played Phil Connors, an arrogant and egocentric Pittsburgh TV weatherman who, during an assignment covering the annual Groundhog Day event in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, finds himself in a time loop, repeating the same day again and again. After indulging in hedonism and numerous suicide attempts, he begins to re-examine his life and priorities.
