UrbanSpace and the Union Square Partnership are thrilled to welcome back more than 150 small businesses to the Union Square Holiday Market. A New York institution for almost two decades, the market attracts more than one million visitors from the United States and abroad each year. Famous for its distinctive red and white tents and joyful atmosphere, shoppers flock to Union Square in search of superior products, unparalleled local cuisine and a quintessential New York experience.

The 2013 installment of the Union Square Holiday Market features over 150 unique vendors that sell everything from artisanal food products to holiday ornaments, from handmade jewelry to children's toys. The Union Square Holiday Market is a wonderful place to spend time with family and friends, support local craftspeople and artisans and be swept up in New York City's holiday merriment. The market is located in Union Square Park, bordered by Park Avenue South, Broadway and 14th Street.

Each year, savvy shoppers return to the Union Square Holiday Market for a perfectly curated blend of old favorites and new innovators; some of the 2013 newcomers include Genuine Motorworks, Pop Chart, Milly & Earl, We See Stars, The Jam Stand, Natural Olivewood, Liddabit Sweets and The Good Batch. For consumers that want to support local artisans, the "Little Brooklyn" section of the market will be back this year, and will feature all local, handmade goods from across the Brooklyn Bridge. Notable "Little Brooklyn" vendors include Marty's Stuff, Brooklyn Brew Shop and Kristina Parm Stationary.

UrbanSpace has redesigned the stylish, handheld market map and directory this season, ensuring that each and every market customer can find his/her way around the many holiday stalls with ease. A complete vendor list will also be available via UrbanSpace's website.

"The Union Square Holiday market is a showcase for New York City's extremely talented and diverse community of artisans, makers and chefs," says Eldon Scott, President of UrbanSpace. "We're thrilled to welcome back many of our vendors from past markets as well as some new partners, and look forward to an exciting holiday season in Union Square."

In addition to the incredible handmade gifts, art and other merchandise sold at the market, UrbanSpace has also recruited a few Mad. Sq. Eats and Broadway Bites favorites to dish out warm food and beverages. Park goers and holiday shoppers can treat their taste buds to Sigmund's, Mighty Balls, Bar Suzette, Wafels & Dinges, Taste of Persia and other treats from talented chefs at this year's market.

Helping to bring in the holiday cheer, the Union Square Partnership is proud to light-up 14th Street from First Avenue to Sixth Avenue and the areas around the park and Holiday Market with new holiday lights. Brightening the commercial corridor this holiday season, the new holiday lights will showcase the retailers, both large and small, that surround the Holiday Market.

"The Union Square Holiday Market is a fantastic addition to our area each holiday season that compliments the many businesses around the park and attracts visitors from the neighborhood, all over the City, and the world," said Jennifer Falk, executive director of the Union Square Partnership. "With a vast array of retailers, restaurants, and entertainment options, Union Square has everything that makes for a fun holiday shopping experience."

The Union Square Holiday Market will be open from Thursday, November 21st until Tuesday, December 24th; market hours are 11:00am to 8:00pm Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 8:00pm Saturday, and 11:00am to 7:00pm Sunday. The market is closed on Thanksgiving Day.
