And the plot thickens!  In this next chapter of ongoing legal battle Burch vs. Burch, Tory Burch has accused ex-husband Chris Burch of withholding documents pertinent to the case.

By doing this, Tory Burch has revealed another layer in her legal argument saying that ex, Chris Burch, used his role as director of her namesake brand to develop “copycat” products his brand, C. Wonder. She also speculated that he used inside financial data to attract investors for his other business ventures.

According to Tory Burch's lawyers, all relevant case documents were supposed to be produced by Nov. 30. Of the 10,000 files turned over by Chris Burch, 3,000 were “makeweight” (mass company emails and public news) nothing of substance.  Tory Burch's team turned over more than 2,000 top-level e-mails between Chris Burch and Tory Burch executives.f

Chris Burch has “failed to produce any documents concerning the business, financial or other relationships” between the plaintiffs and Tory Burch and board members, the designer’s counsel said.

In this latest motion, Tory Burch has requested that the judge order her ex-husband to comply with discovery requests on issues including communications between Chris Burch and Jorg Mohaupt, the designee of Access Industries’ billionaire founder Len Blavatnik on the Tory Burch board and Chris Burch’s travel calendar.

This court battle has become more gossip and tabloid scandal than legal news.  Stay tuned for the next chapter in Burch vs. Burch!
