Tony Winner Daisy Eagan to Star in Alliance Rep's THE EIGHT: REINDEER MONOLOGUES, 12/5-21
The critically-acclaimed ALLIANCE REPERTORY COMPANY is returning in conjunction with Witzel View Entertainment with its first production in over 3 years and the first show of their 2013-2014 season, with Tony Award-winning actress Daisy Eagan (The Secret Garden) featured in THE EIGHT: REINDEER MONOLOGUES written by Jeff Goode and directed by Alliance Repertory Artistic Director Royana Black and David Peryam. THE EIGHT: REINDEER MONOLOGUES will open on Thursday, December 5 at 8:00pm and run through Saturday, December 21 at the Complex Theatre, 6476 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.
HEADLINE: North Pole Scandal! Vixen, one of Santa's reindeer accuses him of sexual harassment. When the media descends upon the North Pole, the the rest of The Eight are compelled to share their stories and perspectives. As their tales of corruption and perversion emerge, they seem to implicate everyone from the littlest toymaker to the "Jolly Old Elf" himself. As we learn each deer's personal story, the truth behind these allegations becomes more clear ...and yet more murky. The Alliance Repertory Company is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer theater company and has produced nearly 50 plays in 25 years, combining a blend of new voices along with the works of established authors. Plays by Sam Shepard, Clifford Odets, and Tennessee Williams had revivals, while works by Sarah Bewley, Mel DeMind, Hal Cantor, and Michael T. Folie received world premieres. In 2009, the Alliance Repertory Company expanded its artistic opportunities to include a partnership with New River Dramatists. New River Dramatists is an incubator for new plays from some wonderful playwrights. We are excited to be able share their work with Los Angeles theater patrons. Alliance Rep is committed to providing a brand of theatre that heightens awareness of the human condition relevant to our times, continually striving to support the ensemble as well as the individual artist. Our focus remains primarily on new, experimental or established works that can foster communication between the theatre artist and the audience.
