Tony Nominee Laurie Metcalf Set for BIG BANG THEORY Guest Appearance

Tony nominee Laurie Metcalf is set to make another guest appearance on this season of CBS' "The Big Bang Theory," as Jim Parson's character Sheldon's mother, according to reports.

Metcalf is currently appearing in the Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of DETROIT which opens on September 9 and will run through November 7. She is also set to appear next year in MCC Theatre's The Other Place. Metcalf received a Tony nomination for her performance in NOVEMBER in 2008. Her other Broadway credits include BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIR and MY THING OF LOVE.

Metcalf is best recognized for her Emmy Award-winning role as Jackie on the sitcom "Roseanne."

"The Big Bang Theory" also stars Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, and Simon Helberg. This season will feature other guest stars including George Takei, Katee Sackhoff, Wil Wheaton, and Mayim Bialik.
