The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the fourth and final time this season to decide the eligibility of 11 Broadway productions for the 2008 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.
Harvey Fierstein will be considered in the Featured Actor in a Musical category for his performance in A Catered Affair.
Christine Baranski will be considered in the Featured Actress in a Play category for her performance in Boeing-Boeing.
Phylicia Rashad will be considered in the Featured Actress in a Play category for her performance in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
James Snyder and Elizabeth Stanley will be considered respectively in the Leading Actor and Actress in a Musical categories for their performances in Cry-Baby.
Patrick Stewart and Kate Fleetwood will be considered respectively in the Leading Actor and Actress in a Play categories for their performances in Macbeth.
Paulo Szot and Kelli O'Hara will be considered respectively in the Leading Actor and Actress in a Musical categories for their performances in South Pacific.
Arthur Laurents was deemed eligible in the Best Direction of a Musical category for Gypsy.
All other decisions were consistent with the opening night credits.
This is the fourth and final time the Tony Awards Administration Committee has met this year. The Tony Award Nominations will be announced on Tuesday, May 13th.
The 62nd Annual American Theatre Wing's Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards® will be broadcast live on the CBS television network from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 15, 2008.
