The Daily Mail writes that Matthew Warchus and Tim Minchin will be holding a second workshop of their GROUNDHOG DAY musical adaptation in March. If all goes well, the production is headed to the Old Vic in 2016.

The Howard Ramis film GROUNDHOG DAY debuted in 1993, starring Bill Murray, Andie MacDowell, and Chris Elliott. The dark comedy was written by Ramis and Danny Rubin, based on a story by Rubin, and follows a disenchanted TV weatherman (Murray) who is forced to live the same day over and over again.

Minchin has won worldwide acclaim as a leading composer, lyricist, comedian, actor and writer with four live comedy albums, five DVDs and numerous UK, US and Australian TV and radio credits. His smash-hit musical MATILDA won a record seven Olivier Awards and five Tony Awards.

While we wait to see how the workshop fares, watch Minchin perform "Seeing You," a song from GROUNDHOG DAY, here!
