Thrasher-Horne Center Appoints New Executive Director Anna Zirbel St. Johns River State College has named Anna Zirbel as the new executive director of the Thrasher-Horne Center. Zirbel, who has 20 years of theatre and venue management experience, has served as both Thrasher-Horne Center's director of marketing and sales and box office manager since joining the team in 2005.

Following a nationwide search, Zirbel succeeds previous executive director, Denton Yockey. "Anna's experience, discipline and organizational skills make her the perfect leader to take the Thrasher-Horne Center to the next level," said Yockey.

And that's exactly what Zirbel plans to do.

"As a key member of the Thrasher-Horne Center team for the past 14 years, I am fully invested in the future of this organization," stated Zirbel. "I believe the Thrasher-Horne Center has the potential to continue to grow into the cultural flagship and hub of arts and commerce we want it to become for St. Johns River State College and Northeast Florida."

Zirbel has a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Management from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with a Minor in Theatre from the University of Northern Iowa. Her professional background during her time in Orange Park also includes founder and president of the Florida Association of Ticketing and at-large Board member of the Orange Park Community Theatre.

St. Johns River State College President Joe Pickens, J.D., said the College is thrilled about Zirbel's leadership at the Thrasher-Horne Center.

"Anna's appreciation for the arts, combined with her sound knowledge and expertise in the field, will allow her to keep building upon the strong foundation laid by Denton Yockey," said Pickens.

The Thrasher-Horne Center is owned and operated by St. Johns River State College and is located on the Orange Park campus. SJR State was established in 1958 as a public institution serving Putnam, Clay and St. Johns counties and serves approximately 10,000 students. The College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate and baccalaureate degrees.
