Harpsichordist Richard Egarr makes his 92Y debut with internationally acclaimed cellist Steven Isserlis, offering a mostly Baroque-era program including repertoire for harpsichord with cello and viola da gamba, as well as a piece for solo harpsichord, by Bach, Boccherini, Handel and Scarlatti. Winner of the 2007 Gramophone Award, Egarr's in-depth musicality and interpretation on harpsichord has received high praise from Fono Forum, which called him, "A Grand Master of the Baroque keyboard".
In 2015, these two frequent collaborators released their highly acclaimed recording, Gamba Sonatas, on Hyperion Records. The Washington Post opines "Isserlis moves even further into an introspective exploration of his beautiful, voice-like tone, making the cantabile slow movements a particular delight."
