The Martin E. Segal Theatre Center, located at CUNY The Graduate Center, and Martin Puchner (Byron and Anita Wien Professor of Drama and of English and Comparative Literature, Harvard University) will reveal how over 4,000 years of storytelling and literature have shaped history and civilization. The evening will feature readings, in a staged setting, from The Epic of Gilgamesh, The Odyssey, Diamond Sutra, Popol Vuh, One Thousand and One Nights, The Tale of Genji, Goethe's Conversations with Eckermann, and Akhmatova's Requiem with introductions by Martin Puchner. Eylül Fidan Ak?nc?, Stefano Boselli, Shane Breaux, Marvin Carlson, Tom Keever, Cory Tamler, Angie Tennant, and Alisa Zhoulina will read the texts. Followed by a discussion with Martin Puchner, Frank Hentschker, and others.
