The Richmond County Orchestra Presents PATRIOTIC PORTRAIT, A Musical Feast And Italian Fare Concert

The Richmond County Orchestra (RCO), under the direction of Maestro Alan Aurelia, presents: PATRIOTIC PORTRAIT, a musical feast and Italian fare Sunday, June 24 at 3 p.m. on the Staten Island Campus of St. John's University. Show includes a full orchestral patriotic favorites such as the Stars and Stripes Forever and My Shot from Hamilton and infused with Italian romantic and familiar songs including O soave fanciulla from La Boheme and many more. Performers include Iris Karlin, Riad Ymeri, and special guest appearances and performances by the Brighton Heights Reformed Church Youth Orchestra and the Vietnam Veterans of America Thomas J. Tori Chapter 421.

This performance is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a re-grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and is administered by Staten Island Arts as well as the Italian Cultural Center at St John's University, the NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs and Staten Island Borough President James Oddo.

Iris Karlin, soprano is an internationally acclaimed soprano, musician and actress, who is also an IDF officer in reserve. She is praised for her rare combination of stage presence and musicianship from critics and conductors alike. She is a versatile leading singer singing opera, operetta, contemporary and musical theater in the tri-state area, where she has been performing with leading opera companies and orchestras.

Riad Ymeri, tenor, being recently awarded with three important lyric prizes is an artist who has performed at the UN Headquarters, President Trump "Mar-a Lago" residence in Florida, Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. He has performed on the Kosovo stage, the National Opera and Ballet Theater of Tirana.
