The New York Theatre Organ Society presents organist Mark Herman in concert on Sunday, October 8th at 3:00pm, performing on the Brooklyn Paramount's original 1928 Wurlitzer theatre organ. This will be the last concert held in this space before the Brooklyn Paramount undergoes a two year restoration.

Tickets are $10-15 for all ages.

ABOUT THE BROOKLYN PARAMOUNT ORGAN

Originally built in 1928, the Wurlitzer at the Brooklyn Paramount (currently the Schwartz Athletic Center at Long Island University) is one of only two of this model still in operation (the other lives at Radio City Music Hall), and the only one that is 100 percent original. The Wurlitzer's mighty sound and large network of nearly 90-year-old pipes, wires, cables, bells, drums, symbols, and other mechanisms required to replicate the sound of a full symphony orchestra through a single, very intricate instrument, are maintained by the New York Theatre Organ Society (NYTOS).

ABOUT Mark Herman

Born in 1987, Mark Herman is one of America's busiest young theatre organists, performing over 30 concerts and silent film presentations each year across the US and abroad. In July of 2012, he was named the American Theatre Organ Society's Organist of the Year and is the youngest person ever to receive the prestigious honor. Mark currently resides in Los Angeles, where he is President and Tonal Director of the Los Angeles Organ Company, the Allen Organ dealer for the Greater Los Angeles Area. www.markhermanproductions.com
