The Lyric Theatre Singers & Special EMSB Guests Present a Magical Holiday Concert From December 6th to 9th, Bob Bachelor and the Lyric Theatre Singers present Candlelight Christmas 2018, the ensemble's annual concert of seasonal songs from around the world, one of Montreal's most popular holiday events. Tickets are now on sale for the 4 performances that will be held at Concordia University's Loyola Chapel, (7141 Sherbrooke Street West in NDG).

An exceptional treat this year is the special guest appearance of the English Montreal School Board Chorale Youth Choir, under the direction of Patricia Abbott-for one night ONLY-on December 6th. The renowned troupe, comprised of Grade 6 through Secondary V students, is an Alliance régionale des chorales de l'Ile de Montréal Choral (ARCIM) Festival multiple award winner and has twice been a national finalist in the Canada Council/CBC Competition for Amateur Choirs. These talented young students will present selections from their own holiday repertoire as well as lend their voices to some of Lyric's selections, for a heartwarming evening of old favourites and exciting new melodies!

The program features a unique and wide assortment of musical styles and innovative arrangements. The Lyric Theatre Singers, a diverse group of all ages and cultural backgrounds, rise to the challenge to deliver an eclectic mix of merry music in four languages! From Celtic and Gospel to Pop and Swing, including Traditional, Jazz and seasonal Broadway tunes, the Singers have concocted another joyous holiday experience for the whole family. Lyric's rich sound is further enhanced by a small but impressive team of musicians: Chad Linsley (piano), Sheila Hannigan (cello), Tim Malloch (flute), Robin Best (harp), Carolyn Peters (violin), and Chris Barillaro, returns to Lyric to take up his position on keyboard and percussion for the festive musical feast.

The Lyric Theatre is a long-standing producer and promoter of musical theatre in the Montreal area. What began in 1965 with a vision of a community based group presenting an annual stage production on the West Island has, thanks to the creation of the Lyric Theatre Singers in 1990, grown into a company of performers of all ages from every corner of the city and its environs. The Singers rehearse and perform 10 months out of every year, presenting their annual June Broadway revues and sold-out Christmas concerts.
