While firmly anchored in the bluegrass tradition, the Second Avenue Mountain Boys bring a unique, new sound to the New York City bluegrass scene. The quartet channels traditional music icons like the Stanley Brothers, Mother Mabel Carter, and Bill Monroe, using their own exhilarating mix of haunting three part harmonies and ripping improvisational breaks. Group members Jon Buchalter (guitar, vocals), Bill Giles (guitar, mandolin, banjo, vocals), Leslie King (mandolin, guitar, vocals), and Banjo Mike Mulhollan add to the mix their many other diverse musical influences ranging from rock, country, gospel, and the blues to jazz, and ragtime. With their fresh blend of high energy and fast-paced acoustic playing, these four exceptional musicians are some of the most intriguing new contributors to urban traditionalism in NYC.

THREEP
Threep, fishers of sound, cast their nets into spectral seas and deep canyons of circuitry and code. Armed with bewildering array of Bakelite knobs, patch cables, software and custom made controllers and instruments they explore parallel worlds within sounds circuitry. Fusing field recordings and granular textures with analogue rhythms and hardware hacked sound ignoring the boundaries of conventional musical composition. While carefully crafting compositions in the studio with meticulous attention to detail, they take an entirely improvised approach to live performance, effortlessly navigating between the delicate and the brutal, minimalism and complexity. Threep is Chris Cousin and Stu Smith; co-directors of music / art collective Bathysphere.

Rebecca Hart
Rebecca Hart has a voice as low-down and gravelly as a flat tire on a '47 Studebaker halfway between Little Rock and Texarkana.

THE BENGSONS
