The KBO Theatre Company Presents BIRTHDAY BOY The KBO Theatre Company announces the premiere of an exciting new musical Birthday Boy based on a true story by Brett Roelofs and Jack Donahue (featuring an original score by Roelofs) and directed and produced by Angie Kristic [Best Director Audelco Award Nominee, August Darnell's Cherchez La Femme: A Musical Excuse/Off-Bway].

Birthday Boy is set in Brooklyn in the 1950's about an eight year old boy named Johnny Rogers who is left an orphanage by his mother (who tells him it's a summer camp) and never returns.

Johnny makes his way to Berkeley University in 1963, where he must learn to love, to trust and be loved...again.

The play previously received an Off-Broadway showcase at The Davenport Theatre and most recently had two staged readings at The Dramatist Guild Of America attended by producer, Eve Pomerance (daughter of The Elephant Man's Bernard Pomerance) who said "I loved it".

Birthday Boy opens Friday, July 13th at The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity running until Monday, July 30th. The terrifically talented cast (by Kristic) includes Emmet Cahill, the Irish tenor known for the band Celtic Thunder.
