The Ensemblist Announces Three New Mini-Series
The Ensemblist, the online advocate for talented artists working in theatre ensembles, recently launched three new podcast mini-series: "College Prep," "My First Time," and "Let's Talk About Auditions."
"My First Time" shares conversations with Broadway stars who made their Broadway debuts in the ensemble to talk about why that experience helped shape them as an artist. The series featured Ben Crawford (Phantom of the Opera), Shoshana Bean (Waitress), Ashley Park (Mean Girls), and Desi Oakley (Chicago). They've ascended up the title pages of our Playbills and descended the towers of backstage dressing rooms to floors closer to the stage level.
"Let's Talk About Auditions" features professionals on the other side of the casting table to find out what they're really looking for in a Broadway ensemble. Performers always hear time and again that the folks casting shows want auditioners to succeed. But what does that success actually look like? The first three episodes feature Rachel Hoffman (Telsey + Company), Spencer Liff (Emmy-Nominated Choreographer), and Stephen Oremus (Two-time Tony Award Winning Musical Supervisor and Conductor).
"College Prep" interviews recent college graduates who have made their Broadway debuts to discuss how their university training helped prepare them for the Main Stem. Today's episode with Christine Shepard shares the story of how she performed in Head Over Heels while finishing her senior year at Pace University. Upcomnig episodes feature Ben Bogen (Frozen) and Brittany Zeinstra (The Prom).
Episodes of "College Prep," "My First Time," and "Let's Talk About Auditions." can be found in The Ensemblist's podcast feeds on Apple Podcast and at The Ensemblist.com.
