The Adelphi Orchestra, upcoming Mother's Day Weekend Concert taking place in NYC on May 13th in NYC's historic Good Shepherd-Faith Presbyterian Church will benefit the AO's Fifteenth Annual Young Artist Programming. The Adelphi Orchestra will also take the opportunity to honor both the recently named Young Artist Competition Winners and their remarkable Moms in a prelude to the concert which will help finance the orchestra's upcoming Young Artist Concerts scheduled for 2018-2019.

In an extraordinary turn of events, three outstanding finalists will be performing with the orchestra during the 2018-19 season. Competition winners performing with the orchestra are:

Co-First Place: Randall Mitsuo Goosby, Violin, Oct 26, 2018, River Dell Middle School, Oct 27, 2018, Good Shepherd-Faith Presbyterian Church NYC,

The Adelphi Orchestra's October 29, 2018, concert - for the past three years a featured event during Discover Jersey Arts month - will share in the statewide spotlight on the importance of the arts and emerging musicians in the development of vibrant communities and the cultural health of the state.

AO principal conductor Richard Owen will lead the orchestra in "Bohemian Rhapsody"

Bohemian Rhapsody features a diverse program presenting the critically acclaimed baritone Andrew Cummings in Mahler's Rückert-Lieder. Saint-Saëns's Introduction & Rondo capriccioso in A minor will be performed by 2015 Adelphi Orchestra Young Artist Competition winner, Nathan Meltzer, who in 2017 at age 16 became the youngest violinist to attain first place in the Windsor Festival String Competition.

And remember, when you attend our concerts during Mother's Day weekend every Mom in the audience who has RSVP will receive a Rose! You can also include your favorite "Mom" in our "Mother's Day Honor Roll" featured on our website and in our May Concert Program.

Our featured soloist, 17-year-old Prodigy Nathan Meltzer said, "Noting the date of the performance, I want to thank all the mothers planning to attend, not the least his own,"
