As a part of FringeNYC with performances tonight, August 14, through August 28 at Spectrum (121 Ludlow St.), experience the modern worries and woe of a sensitive and passionate female German at the hilarious solo show THE BAD GERMAN. Written by and starring Tessa Kim, the show will feature direction from Sarah Elizabeth Wansley (Lincoln Center Directors Lab member, 2011 and Drama League Directing Fellow, 2015).

In THE BAD GERMAN, German-born Tessa moves to New York City and finds herself haunted by her inherited guilt. How will she earn forgiveness? Work clandestinely in a Kosher restaurant? Exorcise her Germaness with energy healing? In this funny, poignant and autobiographical solo show, Tessa asks tough questions like why are some people proud of their heritage, while she was trying 'to blend in' and give her nationality away? A true story about going too far for redemption...

Tessa Kim is a New York-based actor and writer. Much to the dismay of her parents, she abandoned her medical studies in Germany and moved to New York. She received her BA in Theatre Arts at Empire State College, SUNY and her MFA at the Actors Studio at the New School. She's performed in many Off-Broadway theatre productions and independent films. She's been a Nazi in Robert De Niro's The Good Shepherd and a lesbian corpse on Law & Order.

THE BAD GERMAN will have five performances as a part of FringeNYC from August 14-28 at Spectrum (121 Ludlow St.) on FRI 8/14 at 5PM, MON. 8/17 at 5:30PM, THUR. 8/20 at 9:30PM, MON. 8/24 at 6PM and FRI. 8/28 at 8PM. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased online at www.FringeNYC.org beginning 7/17.
