Teens from Broadway and The West End Sign On for #WeHaveAVoice: Broadway's Teens

Kara Oates, Mavis Simpson-Ernst, and Lucy-Mae Beacock have all signed-on to perform in #WeHaveAVoice: Broadway's Teens, on October 15, 7:00 p.m. at The Green Room 42 in Manhattan's Theater District. Kara Oates is a recent graduate of The Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan. Kara began her Broadway career in Billy Elliot the Musical. She then was seen as Jane Banks in Broadway's Mary Poppins. Most recently, Kara was in the cast of Roundabout Theatre's, Napoli, Brooklyn. Mavis Simpson-Ernst is a student at the famed Laguardia High School of the Arts in Manhattan. She was seen in the 25th Anniversary Tour of Les Miserables, Evita on Broadway, and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown at York Theatre. You can also see Mavis in this season of The Americans. Lucy-Mae Beacock is joining the concert all the way from England. She is known for playing the leading role in Matilda on the West End in London. She was most recently seen in a limited run of 13 The Musical also on the West End.

Young performers will sing songs that are written for teenagers, but rarely cast with actual teens. Sam Poon and Sofia Bryant are co-hosts for the evening, with Casey Erin Clark music directing. Proceeds from #WeHaveAVoice will be donated to Covenant House to help teens like themselves. Tickets may be purchased at https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pe.c/10199345 .

Throughout the evening, audience members will be entertained with numbers from shows with teen roles including Spring Awakening, Band Geeks, Next to Normal, Dear Evan Hansen, Hairspray, 13 The Musical, Bring It On, Wicked, Newsies, and The Addams Family.
