'Twilight's' Taylor Lautner to Star in Singleton-Helmed 'Abduction'

Deadline.com's Mike Fleming reports that director John Singleton will helm a new thriller entitled 'Abduction' which will star Twilight's Taylor Lautner. Production is slated to begin July in Pittsburgh.

Lautner will play a teenager who feels disconnected from his parents and whose discovery of his own baby picture on a missing persons website unleashes a violent chain of events. Lautner will reportedly work on 'Abduction' prior to commencing work on 'Breaking Dawn', the final installment in the 'Twilight' saga.

John Singleton has previously directed the 1991 film 'Boyz n the Hood' starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Laurence Fishburne. Singleton other directorial credits include 'Shaft', 'Four Brothers', 'Poetic Justice' and 'Higher Learning'.

Taylor Lautner is best known for his portrayal of Jacob Black in the Twilight Series. He also appeared in the star-studded 'Valentine's Day' which starred Bradley Cooper, Jessica Alba, Kathy Bates, Jessica Biel, Eric Dane, Jamie Foxx, Patrick Dempsey and Ashton Kutcher amongst others. Other film roles include 'Cheaper by the Dozen 2' and 'The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D'. Lautner has appeared in various television series including 'Shadow Fury', 'My Wife and Kids', 'Love Inc.' and 'Summerland'.
