The multitalented Taye Diggs will choreograph a dance piece for ballet star Desmond Richardson.  Presented by Complexions Contemporary Ballet, the piece will be performed at the Joyce Theatre from January 9th through 14th as part of the company's 2007 season.

"Loose Change" will feature Richardson dancing to David Ryan Harris' composition "If I Had a Dime."  The evening will also feature world premieres by Nicolo Fonte, Jodie Gates and Dwight Rhoden.

"I've always found the phrase 'If I had a dime for every...' amusing. I was inspired by the take the songwriter has on this phrase. In this piece, I experimented with the combined ideas of imagination, longing and a strong desire for another person. This song has always made me feel and move, and I'm grateful to have an opportunity to express this," wrote Diggs in a statement.

Last year, Diggs reprised his Broadway performance as Benny in the film version of Rent.  His other theatre credits include A Soldier's Tale, Carousel, Chicago and Wicked (to whose original star, Idina Menzel, he is married). Digg's film credits include Day Break, Malibu's Most Wanted, Chicago, Brown Sugar, The Way of the Gun, House on Haunted Hill, The Best Man, The Wood, and How Stella Got Her Groove Back, his film debut.  With Andrew Palermo, he is co-artistic director of the dre.dance company.
