TIMES ARE HARD FOR DREAMERS To Be Presented At The Green Room 42 In May

The Green Room 42 will present TIMES ARE HARD FOR DREAMERS on May 15 at 9:30 p.m., a cabaret evening produced and conceived by Natalie Kasper.

The performance will bring together an ensemble of New York City performers for a program centered on the experiences of musical theater’s outcasts, exploring themes of longing, rebellion, rejection, and perseverance. The evening will trace the arc of pursuing a dream, from early ambition through setbacks and rebuilding, culminating in moments of personal and artistic fulfillment.

Selections will include songs such as “Out There” from THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, “Somewhere That’s Green” from LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, and “I Can Do Better Than That” from THE LAST FIVE YEARS, among others.

Music direction and piano will be by Aidan S. Wells, with Kiera Matthews serving as associate producer.

The cast will include Natalie Kasper, Julia Baddour, Ava Bates, Hannah Battersby, Layla Bohl, Julia Kim Caldwell, Genevieve Duska, Heidi-Liz Johnson, Joseph Keegan, Isabel Koehler, Miranda Lopez Lechuga, Niki Metcalf, Nya Trey, Kayla Pérez, Charise Pisani, Valeria N. Mictil Rivera, and Eliza Somers.

About the Production

Natalie Kasper is a New York-based singer, actress, and songwriter who trained at the Stella Adler Musical Theater Intensive and continues her studies at Stella Adler and HB Studio. Her performance credits include The Hours We Had at Off The Lane, Bound for Broadway at The Triad Theater, and Sondheim Night at Don’t Tell Mama. She is also a songwriting graduate of Belmont University, with original music available across streaming platforms.

The production features a range of performers with backgrounds in musical theater, opera, and live performance, many of whom have appeared at venues across New York City including The Green Room 42, 54 Below, and The Triad Theater.
