THE QUEEN OF BINGO To Play Florida Rep
The participatory performance will run from May 27 - June 14.
The interactive comedy by Jeanne Michels and Phyllis Murphy is inspired by Harvey Korman and Tim Conway sketches from the old Carol Burnett Show. ‘Sis’ and ‘Babe,’ two sisters on the other side of 50, want to add a little fun and excitement to their lives and they find it in Bingo. Audiences are encouraged to stay in their seats during intermission for a round of bingo where they just might be surprised by a celebrity bingo caller.
“This sidesplittingly funny show is a wonderful treat for not only bingo fans, but for fans of good old-fashioned comedy,” says Greg Longenhagen, Florida Rep’s producing artistic director. “The male cast play these characters not as drag queens, but as distinctive, individual, and incredibly hilarious women.”
Florida Repertory Theatre presents The Queen of Bingo at ArtStage Studio Theatre. Performances running from May 27 – June 14. Tickets start at $67 and may be purchased online at the Florida Rep website or by calling the box office at 239-332-4488.
