THE MOON RITUALS Workshop to Feature Cast at the Tank

Kimi Handa Brown, Carter, Priyanka Arya Krishnan and Camille van Putten return alongside newcomers Jen Anaya and Sam Turlington.

The workshop production of Laura Neill's THE MOON RITUALS at the Tank, produced by Thalia Sablon & Murmuration Theatre Company, has announced its cast. Having been with the production from its first reading in 2025 at Limefest, Kimi Handa Brown, Carter, Priyanka Arya Krishnan, and Camille van Putten return in their original roles. Directing team Kelleen Moriarty and Thalia Sablon welcome new cast members Jen Anaya and Sam Turlington, rounding out this talented group, who embody a wild range of characters throughout the play, from rowdy teens drinking in the woods to exhausted millennials burying something that might or might not be a body part.

This tapestry-style play showcases the deep range of each actor as they take on a number of roles woven together toward a devastatingly hilarious conclusion. This show is a New Georges Supported Production, supported by the Orchard Project Opportunity Fund, and a theatre partner of Healing TREE. Laura Neill has sculpted the fiercely poignant and humorous script over the course of this workshop process. 'I'm honored to learn from these incredible actors as they bring these characters to life–and as they patiently embrace every line change in this workshop process. I've laughed more in this room than I have in a long time, thanks to these brilliant artists,' Neill shares.

The show opens Monday August 24 at the Tank. Post-show panels with pelvic healthcare professionals will follow the August 30 at 3pm and September 1 at 7pm shows.

About the Cast

Jen Anaya (they/them) wrecks the stage as Claire, Cooper, Carson, Christine. From La Mama to La Jolla Playhouse, across Lenapehoking, Turtle Island and the world, Jen Anaya weaves music, theater, movement and healing together everywhere they go.

Kimi Handa Brown (They/Them) breaks hearts and false shame narratives as Bridge, Beck, Bertie, Babe, Brittany, and Bee. Kimi is a Multi-Hyphenate Artist from California with their BFA in Musical Theater from the University of Utah, recently seen on stage at SAPPHEST, the University Settlement Project, and The Cell Theater, as well as on screen at New York International Short Film Festival, the New Filmmaker's NYC Festival and New York Short Film Festival.

Carter (they/them) offers powerfully poignant takes on EJ, El, East, and Emerson. Carter is a trans-disciplinary artist + creative doula—passionate about visceral, community-oriented art; art that archives somatic memory while cultivating a sacred space of release. Their upcoming/ongoing projects include The Infinite Wrench (New York Neofuturists) In De Back Of God's Eyes (Ma'at Works Collective), illīs quī mūtatī (DISCO/ALTAR).

Priyanka Arya Krishnan strikes fear into audiences' souls as Fia. Recently reviewed by the New York Times for her work in Happy Life at Soho Rep, and just wrapped on her first Lifetime feature (A Dangerous Match), catch Priyanka on the Season 5 finale of Younger with Sutton Foster, and in the series Go Fetch Club.

Sam Turlington's exceptionally talented range creates six wildly distinct people in Di, Drew, Dylan, Dawn, Dev, and Denny. Sam has been seen off-Broadway in The Lark, Wall to Wall: Stephen Schwartz, Honegger's Le Roi David, Soldiers & Other-Living Things. Off-Off Bway: Much Ado About Nothing, Incongruence: A {trans}gender looking glass, Rockabye Hamlet, Oddity, Floot. Internationally, Sam has starred in Twelfth Night at Shakespeare's Globe, Are You Alice, The Virgin Trial, As You Like It. Sam works frequently in film and tv; recently they won Best Actor at the Berlin Short Awards for their role in The Rest of Them; a short slice of queer life film.

Camille van Putten expertly originates the roles of Ashley, Amy, Ava, Abby, and Alex. Camille studied Theater at Dartmouth College and completed the Professional Conservatory Program at The Art of Acting Studio. They have had the pleasure of collaborating with talented indie theatre makers across the city, including Janani Sreenivasan, Emily Ann Banks, Needs More Work, and Hamlet Isn't Dead. Camille is an associate producer of the project.
