Rudyard Kipling - "a magician of words." Jackson Gillman - "the Stand-up Chameleon." Put them together and it is apparent why Kipling's "Just So Stories" have been adored by many generations worldwide. These timeless classics will be brought to life through Jackson's own theatrical magic and physical animations. Follow the Elephant's Child as he journeys to the great grey-green, greasy Limpopo River. Come learn "How the Whale Got His Throat," "How the Camel Got His Hump," and other delightful lessons in this sparkling adventure, O Best Beloved, for the young and young-at-heart.

Jackson has been performing the "Just So Stories" for 36 years, and annually portrays Rudyard-in-Residence at Kipling's historic Brattleboro, Vermont home. He has been featured at the National Storytelling Festival four times, and has thrice been Teller-in-Residence at the International Storytelling Center. He has found that Kipling's stories are ideal for an intergenerational audience, with adults enjoying the sophisticated humor and imagery, and all ages captivated by the characterizations and word play.

The Kipling Society held its Symposium in the United States for the first time in 2013 and opined that "...the physical theatre of Jackson's telling was just first rate." The Camden Shakespeare Company said of this show: "Jackson Gillman is an extraordinarily talented storyteller and showman. He had all of us, especially the adults, right in his hands!"
