THE 39 STEPS Celebrates 3rd Annual Hitchcock Month Beginning Sept. 1

THE 39 STEPS' ANNUAL HITCHCOCK MONTH BEGINS SEPTEMBER 1ST!

The Tony Award winning hit comedy will celebrate with special events throughout September.

Alfred Hitchcock's THE 39 STEPS, Off-Broadway's smash-hit comedy thriller based on the beloved Hitchcock film, is celebrating Hitchcock Month throughout September. In honor of the master of suspense THE 39 STEPS will host the following events and contests.

FREE TICKETS!
All patrons who bring a valid ID proving that they were born in 1939 or are currently 39 years of age will receive one complimentary ticket to THE 39 STEPS, valid for any September performance. Go to the New World Stages box office (340 West 50th St.) to redeem.

SPECIAL TALK-BACK EVENTS
September will feature post show talk-backs starting on Wednesday, September 8th, with comedy writers Kevin Bleyer and Elliott Kalan from Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." And in honor of THE 39 STEPS' 1000th performance on Monday, September 20th, author and lecturer Tom Santopietro will host a special post show talk-back.

"MR. MEMORY" TRIVIA CONTEST
Fans can test their knowledge of all things Hitchcock and THE 39 STEPS with the "Mr. Memory" trivia contest. 3rd ANNUAL Alfred Hitchcock LOOK-A-LIKE CONTEST
Hitchcock month will culminate with the 3rd Annual Alfred Hitchcock Look- A-Like contest. Take a photo of your look-a-like and you may be chosen to be a finalist. Chosen finalists will be invited onstage after the Monday, September 27th, 8pm performance of THE 39 STEPS for a live audience vote.

PRIZE GIVEAWAY AT EVERY PERFORMANCE
Winners will be chosen at every performance of THE 39 STEPS to receive prizes, including merchandise and signed posters by the cast.

THE 39 STEPS features a cast of four actors who, against all odds, breathlessly and hilariously reenact all of the characters, locations and famous scenes in Hitchcock's 1935 film thriller with just a few props and a lot of theatrical ingenuity and split second quick changes. Adapted by Patrick Barlow and directed by Maria Aitken, THE 39 STEPS is based on an original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon and on the book by John Buchan.

The cast features John Behlmann as Richard Hannay, Cameron Folmar as Man #2, Jamie Jackson as Man #1 and Kate MacCluggage as Annabella Schmidt/Pamela/Margaret. The production also features Greg Jackson and Jane Pfitsh.

Set and costume design is by Peter McKintosh, lighting design is by Kevin Adams and sound design is by Mic Pool. Original movement was created by Toby Sedgwick. Additional movement is created by Christopher Bayes. Production stage manager is M. William Shiner.
