Voting is now open for the Dance on Broadway contest hosted by Marie Claire. Videos submitted by the ten finalists in the contest are now online; the selected dancer will win a trip to New York and the opportunity to dance on Broadway in Sweet Charity.

"Click the Play buttons below to view each contestant's video, then cast your vote for your favorite finalist! Remember, you will only be able to vote once, so choose wisely. The winner will be flown to New York City, put up in a hotel, given dance lessons with the show's choreographic team (including Wayne Cilento) before making their appearance in Sweet Charity on Broadway," states the show's website. The videos will be online through November 30th; a winner will then be chosen.

Sweet Charity, starring Emmy Award winner Christina Applegate as Charity and Tony Award winner Denis O'Hare as Oscar, performs at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 W. 45th St). The show is directed by Tony Award-winner Walter Bobbie (Chicago) and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Wayne Cilento (The Who's Tommy, Wicked).  Sweet Charity also stars Mylinda Hull  as Nickie, Kearran Giovanni as Helene, Wayne Knight as Herman and Paul Schoeffler as Vittorio.

With book by Neil Simon, music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, and based on an original screenplay by Federico Fellini, Tullio Pinelli and Ennio Flaiano, Sweet Charity is a "funny, poignant and tender look at the misadventures of Charity Hope Valentine (Applegate), a dance-hall hostess who always gives her heart - and her earnings - to the wrong man," according to production notes.

Sweet Charity originally opened at the Palace Theatre on January 29th, 1966 in a production that was staged by the legendary Bob Fosse and starred the equally renowned Gwen Verdon in the title role; it ran for 608 performances.
