"Everything has its season, everything has its time." For the Sussex Tech Drama Club in Georgetown, Delaware, its time is February fifteenth through the eighteenth, where they will be performing the musical Pippin with music by Stephen Schwartz and book by Roger O. Hirson.
Pippin tells the story of a mysterious traveling carnival, led by the tantalizing Leading Player to tell the story of Pippin, ending with an unforgettable climax. Pippin, a young prince, is on a quest to derive meaning and purpose out of his self-described extraordinary life. Plots to bring disaster and constant intrigue ensue as Pippin is led closer and closer to the Grand Finale by the ever alluring Leading Player. Featuring humor, romance, illusion, fantasy, battles, and most of all magic, Pippin will leave the audience with a Finale they will never forget.
Directed by Anthony Natoli, the cast and crew have been working since November to bring the whimsical world of Pippin to the stage. With magic, tricks, and misdirection, your eyes will always be fixated on something "Extraordinary" as Pippin says.
