Sunfish The Musical, the winner of 2005 Jonathan Larson, Daryl Roth and Daniel Marshall Multicultural Awards, is currently conducting a nationwide casting call for a leading role in the Broadway-bound musical. A casting call will be held on November 12, 2-6 PM at Theatre Row Studios (410 W. 42nd Street, between Ninth and Dyer Avenues).

Sunfish The Musical, to be directed by Ben Rimalower (Off-Broadway's Joy), will be performed at the TRU Reading Series, in mid-December, and a fully-staged production is planned for the future. Sunfish "puts a contemporary spin on the traditional Sim-Chung Korean folk tale," state press notes. The show features music by Hyeyoung Kim and lyrics and book by Michael L. Cooper; Eva Price is the show's producer.

"All 17-27 year old Asian or exotic-looking ingenues with a high belting voice should audition," states the casting notice. The show will run along Equity Staged Reading Guidelines, and a transportation stipend is provided.
