Stacie Burrows Will Return to Edinburgh Fringe With New Solo Show FOOL'S GOLDMINE

Critically acclaimed writer and performer, Stacie Burrows is set to return to Edinburgh Fringe for the fourth time this Summer, with her new solo show Fool's Goldmine.

In Fool's Goldmine, Burrows goes from well-to-do, to well-to-don't, exploring her family's relationship with debt. Burrows grew up in 1980s Houston, Texas, blissfully unaware of her family's financial problems, though, the house phone rang constantly, and no one would answer. She was raised under the assumption that they were rich, only to discover that it was all a façade. Her father, whom she idolizes, made every financial blunder under the sun. This created a bit of an identity crisis for her. Following this revelation, Burrows vowed to avoid financial problems in her own life, only to find herself deep in debt, raising her own family in Los Angeles, where wealth is readily on display. She finds compassion and understanding for her father, now that she's the parent.

'I'm just a girl from a long line of credit,' states Burrows, who, rather than keeping up with the Joneses or Kardashians, is just trying to keep up with herself! Audiences will learn how Burrows 'got poor quick' in this serious but humorous solo show, which features an original soundtrack.

Burrows is no stranger to the Edinburgh Fringe, and audiences and critics alike have previously enjoyed her offerings including Bulletproof Unicorn (2022), Laughable (2024), and the award-winning No Good Drunk (2025), which performed at Pleasance Courtyard, and received multiple five-star reviews, before transferring to London for a run last Autumn. Burrows has again teamed up with her powerhouse director Katierose Donohue Enriquez (Queen of Fishtown) and her elegant and eloquent music co-writer Sam Small (Tyler Ballgame, Man Man Band). Stacie Burrows is a Los Angeles-based Texan writer, performer, and producer known for raw, music-forward solo theatre works exploring family dysfunction, mental health, addiction, and now, financial recklessness. Her performances blend Southern Gothic storytelling, original music, and multimedia elements.

Performance Dates 7-15 AUGUST, 19:45 (Mint Studio) 17-29 (not 23rd) AUGUST, 21:50 (Sprout Studio) Location Venue 236 Greenside 22-26 George Street, Edinburgh, EH2 2PQ.
