Cat-her-in-e, written and performed by Amy Staats, will open at the Midtown International Theatre Festival on Wednesday, July 25th at 8pm. The solo show is directed by Jorelle Aronovitch. "Based on a true story about her family, Cat-her-in-e is about a young girl's conflicted relationship with her brilliantly imaginative but troubled older cousin," state press notes. The show runs through August 5th.

As an actress, Amy Staats is a member of The Ensemble Studio Theatre, where she has originated rolls by such playwrights as Edward Allen Baker, Susan Kim & Amy Fox. She has appeared at the NYC Fringe Festival, Circle East & the Rattlestick and has participated in numerous workshops/readings at MCC, Playwright's Horizons, New Dramatists, The New Group & the Ensemble Studio Theatre, among others.  Staats' play The Changing of the Guard is included in Best American Short Plays 2002-2003.
