The 18th Century Chinese tale Painted Skin receives a retelling that combines elements of both Western and Peking Opera styles in a contemporary American setting. The cast of three characters includes mezzo-soprano Kristin Gornstein, coloratura soprano Holly Flack and acclaimed NY-based Kunqu opera singer Qian Yi, praised by the New York Times as 'radiant, energetic and graceful.' Directed by Michael Hofmann. Performed by the Bard Chinese Ensemble, conducted by Jindong Cai.
