Spamalot's Groener Featured on 'Downstage Center,' 7/28

The American Theatre Wing and XM Satellite Radio will present an interview with three-time Tony Award®-nominee Harry Groener on their weekly theatrical interview show, "Downstage Center," on XM's On Broadway (XM Channel 28). Groener will appear as the special guest on Friday, July 28 at 6 p.m. The show will repeat on Saturday, July 29 at noon, Sunday, July 30 at 7 p.m., and Wednesday, August 2 at midnight, all listed times EST.

A stage veteran, Groener currently appears as King Arthur in Monty Python's Spamalot at the Sam S. Shubert Theatre.  He received Tony Awardnominations for his performances in Crazy for You, Oklahoma! and Cats. His additional Broadway credits include Harrigan and Hart, for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination; Oh, Brother!; Is There Life After High School?; Sleight of Hand; Sunday in the Park With George; and Imaginary Friends. Other New York appearances are Twelve Dreams (LCT), and Picasso at the Lapin Agile.

Groener's work extends into film, having appeared on the big screen in Amistad, Dance With Me, Patch Adams, Manna From Heaven, Brubaker, Buddy Boy, About Schmidt and Road to Perdition. His television credits include the Mayor on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Ralph on "Dear John," "Las Vegas," "Medium," "Bones," "Mad About You," "West Wing," "Star Trek: Voyager," "Next Generation" and "Enterprise."

In addition to his numerous regional theatre credits he is an associate artist at San Diego's Globe Theatre and is a founding member of Los Angeles' Antaeus Company.

Each new "Downstage Center" program is regularly broadcast at 6 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays at noon, Sundays at 7 p.m. and Wednesdays at 12 a.m. (all times EST).
