A plethora of new photos depicting the recording sessions for the original Broadway cast recording of the short-lived 1965 musical DO I HEAR A WALTZ? written by Richard Rodgers, Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurents is now available to view courtesy of Masterworks Broadway.

A grandfatherly Rodgers can be seen taking in the sights and sounds of the sessions, alternately listening intently and wryly smiling while also conferring with producer Goddard Lieberson.

Also, past WEST SIDE STORY and future ANYONE CAN WHISTLE collaborators Sondheim and Laurents can be seen gathered around the piano as Rodgers plays in another shot.

Plus, get a glimpse of show stars Sergio Franchi, Elizabeth Allen, Julienne Marie, Stuart Damon and more.

DO I HEAR A WALTZ? was based on the play TIME OF THE CUCKOO by Laurents, who wrote the book, with music by Rodgers and lyrics by Sondheim. The musical opened on March 18, 1965 at the 46th Street Theatre, closing in September of that year.
