Asa Somers, who stars in the off-Broadway musical hit Once Around The Sun, will sing the National Anthem at the Mets game at Shea Stadium tomorrow, September 20th.

Somers plays struggling rock musician Kevin in Once Around the Sun, which currently runs at the Zipper Theatre. In the show, Kevin has to choose between fame and success, and love and family. The musical, which recently announced an upcoming Broadway run, began previews July 27th and opened on August 11th. Featuring a score by
Robert Morris, Steven Morris and Joe Shane and a book by Kellie Overbey, its off-Broadway run was extended to October 16th. Once Around the Sun also stars Maya Days, Jesse Lenat, Caren Lyn Manuel, John Hickok and Kevin Mambo.

Somers last appeared on Broadway on Taboo; previous credits include Dance of the Vampires and The Rocky Horror Show (in the title role).  Off-Broadway, he starred in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and has been seen in regional productions of Hedwig, Tall Grass Gothic and Hair.
