On Thursday, February 22nd at 8 AM, Fox 5's "Good Day New York" anchors Jodi Applegate and Ron Corning will sit down with The Drowsy Chaperone star Jennifer Smith to discuss her role as "Kitty" in her tenth Broadway production, as well as the League of American Theatres and Producers upcoming "Singles' Night on Broadway" event on February 28th.

Smith will be joined by Company star Raul Esparza to discuss the new pilot audience development program which will provide a unique opportunity for single men and women to meet and share their common interest in Broadway.

"Good Day New York" airs on Fox 5 WNYW in Manhattan daily from 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. Smith will appear in the 8:00 a.m. half hour.

With the purchase of a ticket to the five time Tony Award-winning hit musical The Drowsy Chaperone or any of the other 17 participating Broadway shows, "Singles' Night on Broadway" guests can attend a pre-show cocktail party at Madame Tussauds in Times Square as well as take advantage of other special offers at an after-show party at their choice of the restaurants Trattoria Dopo Teatro or Zanzibar.

The recipient of thirteen major awards, The Drowsy Chaperone received the most Tony Awards of any musical -five in total, including Best Book and Best Score, seven Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical, four Outer Critic's Circle Awards including Outstanding Score and the Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Musical.

The musical is directed and choreographed by Tony Award-nominee Casey Nicholaw (Spamalot), with music and lyrics by Tony Award® winners Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison and a book by Tony Award-winners Bob Martin and Don McKellar.

"To chase his blues away, a modern day musical theatre addict known simply as 'Man in Chair' drops the needle on his favorite cast album – the 1928 musical comedy The Drowsy Chaperone. From the crackle of his hi-fi, the uproariously funny musical magically bursts to life on stage. We are instantly immersed in the hilarious tale of a glamorous bride and her uproarious wedding day, complete with thrills and surprises that take both the cast (literally) and the audience (metaphorically) soaring into the heavens. Man in Chair's infectious love of The Drowsy Chaperone speaks to anyone who has ever been transported by the theater," state press materials.
