Simone McAlonen's Solo Comedy WILD WILD CHRISTIAN is Heading to SoHo Playhouse
Midnight Flâneur will present the East Coast premiere of the show, which heads to Edinburgh Festival Fringe after its run.
New York based production house Midnight Flâneur will present the East Coast premiere of Simone McAlonen's comedic solo show, Wild Wild Christian, at SoHo Playhouse's Huron Club for three nights only: June 5, 12, and 19, 2026. Performances will run June 5, 12, 19, 2026 at 9:00 PM. Tickets are $35.
Inspired by McAlon's upbringing in Oregon and incorporating her real pre-teen diary entries, Wild Wild Christian picks up where the Netflix documentary Wild Wild Country leaves off: when the notorious Rajneeshpuram cult disbands its rural compound and is transformed into a wholesome Christian camp. Through her own spiritual awakening, Simone explores purity cultue and the deeply ingrained links between American Evangelicalism and the current political climate.
Wild Wild Christian's SoHo Playhouse engagement follows runs at the Dynasty Typewriter (Los Angeles, CA) and The Siren (Portland, OR), and selections in the 2022 Suttle Lodge Artist in Residence Award and 2023 San Francisco Sketchfest. After completing performances at SoHo Playhouse, Wild Wild Christian will premiere at Edinburgh Festival Fringe August 7-29, 2026 at the Willow's Studio at Greenside @ Riddle's Court.
