Showgirls--which in 1995 won six Golden Raspberry "Razzie" Awards--will be turned into a Las Vegas musical spectacle, according to IMDB News.

Showgirls screenwriter Joe Eszterhas (Basic Instinct) was previously reported in New York Magazine as working on putting the lavish NC-17 film on a Sin City stage.  According to that magazine, producers of Urinetown have been enlisted for the project.

Showgirls, directed by Paul Verhoeven, starred Elizabeth Berkley, Gina Gershon, Kyle McLachlan and more.  The movie concerns the catfight-filled rivalry between two beautiful topless dancers-the ruthless Cristal Connors and novice ecdysiast Nomi Malone.
