Secret Theatre Musical presents the Classic Musical GYPSY

Secret Theatre Musical's Richard Mazda [Hair, King Lear, A Chorus Line] proudly presents the 'Mother of All Musicals' GYPSY! The Secret Theatre recent winning musical streak includes stunning productions of Cabaret, A Charlie Brown Christmas & A Chorus Line and we are thrilled to add this iconic musical to our ever-growing list!

Gypsy is deeply rooted in the 1920s and 30s, during a time when live theatre was pushing boundaries, becoming more risqué in an effort to retain audiences who were drawn to the allure of the "talkies." Almost a century later, with sensationalism and scandal still the most powerful marketing motivators, The Secret Theatre's production of Gypsy scales back the spectacle often associated with the show to instead focus on the heart of the piece - family. Rose is a single mom who wants a better life for herself and her children. Louise is a girl forced to grow up too quickly whose one wish is for her mother's affection.

While retaining the original time period of the show, director Rick Hamilton [off-Broadway's Fabulous, Queen of Musicals, Geeks] has assembled a multicultural cast reflecting the rich diversity of Queens, highlighting the common humanity that lies at the core of this landmark musical. Choregraphed by Kami Seymour, Musical Director Michael Liepper, Costumer Antonio Consuegra, Stage Manager Justin Hsu

We are delighted to feature several of our young Secret Theatre Academy students in the show!!

Cast includes Marcie Henderson* [ The People Vs Mona, Raisin in the Sun] as Rose, Mary Lauren* [Hair, Sopia!] as Louise, Greg Horton* [Raisin in the Sun] as Herbie, Taylor Elise Rector* as Dainty June, C.L.
