SULLIVAN & SON Comedy Tour to Play Pittsburgh's Byham Theater, 8/9

On August 9th, 2013 Pittsburgh native Steve Byrne will return to the city where he grew up when he takes the stage at the Byham Theater at 8:00 p.m. as part of the Sullivan & Son Comedy Tour. Byrne will be joined by fellow cast mates Owen Benjamin, Roy Wood Jr., and Ahmed Ahmed on the tour, each of whom is an accomplished comedian in their own right. In a 2012 interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Byrne recounts, "I'm from Pittsburgh and I love it. It's a huge part of who I am," and explains that he hopes to "capture the essence of what is Pittsburgh," through the bar depicted on the Sullivan & Son television show.

Sullivan & Son is TBS's hit half-hour comedy series. The first season garnered a large fan base, averaging over 2.5 million viewers per episode. The show is based on Steve Sullivan (Steve Byrne) leaving behind life in New York as a successful corporate attorney to take over the family bar in a working-class Pittsburgh neighborhood. The barstools are filled with Steve's best friends Owen (Owen Benjamin), Roy (Roy Wood Jr.), and Ahmed (Ahmed Ahmed). Diane Werts of Newsday raved "Surprise! A laugh-out -loud hilarious show."
