STEEL PETUNIAS Opens 10/27 at The PIT
Steel Petunias: An UNAUTHORIZED! Musical Parody is the second installment of the brilliant and talented writing team of Barnes and Mercy. The first of the UNAUTHORIZED! Musical Parody Series, That 80's Time Travel Movie, played two sold-out performances at The PIT's Striker Stage in September. The authors were commissioned by the opening night audience's popular vote to write a musical parody of the 1989 TriStar Pictures film
STEEL MAGNOLIAS starring Sally Field, Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, Julia Roberts and Daryl Hannah.
As a condition of the commission, the writers have exactly 30 days from pen to paper to opening night for each of the six parodies in the series. This marks the second installment in the series. The opening night audience will again commission Barnes and Mercy's next parody.
Steel Petunias: An UNAUTHORIZED! Musical Parody opens on Monday, October 27th, 8:00p at The People's Improv Theater, 123 East 24th Street, New York. Tickets are on sale at thepit-nyc.com for $20. Advanced purchase is strongly suggested. There will be a stand-by line available.
