When West Side Story was created in 1957, it was considered a modern retelling of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. How would the story differ in today's context? Below check out an awesome, modern interpretation the "Cool" scene, as just released by Los York.

The video features direction by Seth Epstein, music and composition by Jimek, and choreography by Keone and Mari Madrid.

West Side Story is an American musical with a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and conception and choreography by Jerome Robbins. The story is set in the Upper West Side neighborhood in New York City in the mid-1950s, an ethnic, blue-collar neighborhood. The musical explores the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage streetgangs of different ethnic backgrounds. The members of the Sharks, from Puerto Rico, are taunted by the Jets, a white gang.
