SIX, HEATHERS, and More Set For Darlington Hippodrome Summer 2026 Season Lineup
The lineup will also include Dog Man, 9 to 5, and more.
Darlington Hippodrome has announced its Summer 2026 brochure, featuring world-class theatre, live entertainment, family shows and star-studded appearances. The new season showcases a mix of award-winning musicals, children's productions, drama and live events.
The lineup will include a performance by Strictly Come Dancing favourite Kai Widdrington on 23 June, bringing his signature ballroom flair and choreography to the Hippodrome stage.
In The Night Garden Live will arrive for a two-day run on 27 and 28 June. The much-loved CBeebies show promises vibrant puppetry, enchanting music, and an immersive theatrical experience for young children and their families.
Continuing the family-themed fun, the timeless tale of Dr Seuss' The Cat in the Hat will come to the stage from 3 to 5 July, offering playful storytelling, imaginative staging and plenty of laughter.
Musicals and Major Theatre Tours
The Summer 2026 season features a selection of major touring productions, led by the smash-hit 9 to 5 The Musical, running from 4 to 8 August. Starring acclaimed actress and impressionist Jessica Martin, this high-energy adaptation of the beloved Dolly Parton film delivers a powerful message of empowerment wrapped in humour and unforgettable songs.
September will kick off with Dog Man The Musical from 11 to 13 September, based on Dav Pilkey's bestselling children's books. Perfect for younger audiences, it blends comedy, action and heart in equal measure.
Hot on its heels, the cult favourite Heathers The Musical will arrive from 22 to 26 September, delivering its bold, darkly comedic take on teenage life, complete with a hit soundtrack and a fiercely loyal fanbase.
October continues the momentum with the courtroom drama Twelve Angry Men from 6 to 10 October.
Six The Musical will take centre stage from 13 to 17 October, retelling the stories of Henry VIII's six wives through a modern pop concert format.
The Hippodrome also supports local talent, with DarlingtonOS presenting the rock musical We Will Rock You from 28 October to 7 November, featuring the music of Queen.
Star Power and One-Night Wonders
In addition to its theatrical programme, the Summer 2026 brochure features a roster of household names appearing throughout the season. Audiences can enjoy live performances and appearances from Jools Holland, Kerry Katona, Russell Kane, Henry Cole, Gary Delaney, Lee Mead, Ore Oduba, Harry Enfield, Miriam Margolyes, Sir Derek Jacobi, and Omid Djalili.
These events offer audiences the chance to experience comedy, music, storytelling and conversation from some of the UK's most celebrated entertainers.
A Festive Finale For The Whole Family
This year Darlington Hippodrome will present the much-loved panto, Beauty & The Beast, bringing festive magic to audiences of all ages. Starring Matt Baker, alongside Josh Benson and Jamie Jones, the production will include spectacular costumes, dazzling sets, laugh-out-loud comedy and all the traditional panto fun audiences have come to expect.
