Ars Nova announces an August and September lineup featuring exciting new comedy, music and theater events including fan favorite Showgasm, Those Lost Boys with Frankie J. Alvarez (HBO's Looking), and Isaac Oliver: Intimacy Idiot. Details below!

Showgasm. (Thursday 8/14; $5)
What is Showgasm you ask? It's direct eye contact with Sharon Stone, a dance craze that began at your bat mitzvah. It's us, babe. Or more simply put, a raucous variety show with performances ranging from hilarious to titillating to utterly inappropriate! Come. You've never looked better!

Those Lost Boys (Thursday 8/21 - Saturday 8/23; $15)

Created & Performed by Frankie J. Alvarez (HBO's Looking), Nick Choksi (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812), Damon Daunno (Brief Encounter), Gabriel Ebert (Casa Valentina, Matilda), Brendan Spieth (Lesser America) & Elvy Yost (Mildred Pierce)

They're back! Those Lost Boys, the legendary indie band that mysteriously vanished from the independent circuit in the early aughts, will reunite at Ars Nova this August for an exclusive and intimate concert. For the first time, members old and new will play together, and answer all the questions we've been asking ourselves since they disappeared into myth.

This performance comes to you as part of Ars Nova's Project Residency initiative to help artists get unique projects off the ground.

Lecture + Demo: Citizen Samwich (Wednesday, 8/27, $15)

New York drag queen, award-winning social media presence, former hardcore rapper and current Showgasm DJ Hamm Samwich gives a live walk through of her upcoming electronic album, Citizen Samwich. Expect tasteful visual aids, special guests, and answers to your most pressing questions.

This show comes to you as part of Ars Nova's Showgasm Spotlight series, designed to give artists working in the same adventurous vein as Ars Nova's monthly variety show, Showgasm. a chance to try out a full-length evening of work in front of a live audience.

June, July, August, Whatever (Wednesday, 9/3, $15)

Holy shit, you guys. Summer is waning! Let Cocoon Central Dance Team be your final hoorah at sleep away camp in this dance recital interweaving video and choreography. June, July, August, Whatever is an absurd ode to reckless bliss in the hyper-earnest talent show style of CCDT.

Isaac Oliver: Intimacy Idiot (Friday 9/5; $15)

Hailed as "a monstrous new talent" by New York Magazine and "a little gay-heavy but still funny" by Los Angeles, Isaac Oliver is back with more hilarious and heartfelt stories, love poems, and rants from his forthcoming book, Intimacy Idiot.
