Ryan Murphy Anthology Series SCREAM QUEENS Officially Cancelled by FOX

At this morning's FOX upfront conference call, FOX chairman Gary Newman revealed that Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan's anthology horror comedy series SCREAM QUEENS will not return for a third season. "It is an anthology series, and Ryan felt that he told THE STORY over the two seasons, he felt THE STORY was complete," explained Newman. "There is no plan to go back and tell more stories." Murphy will return to FOX with the new drama series 9-1-1, starring Angela Bassett. Meanwhile, SCREAM QUEENS alum Lea Michele is set to star in the new ABC comedy series THE MAYOR.

SCREAM QUEENS featured an all-star cast, including Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee Lea Michele ("Glee"), Abigail Breslin, John Stamos and Taylor Lautner. From Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision in association with 20th Century FOX Television.

The series was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, who also serve as writers and directors on the series. SCREAM QUEENS is executive-produced by Murphy, Falchuk, Brennan and Alexis Martin Woodall ("American Horror Story: Hotel").
