Daphne Rubin-Vega is one of five women being honored at The All Stars Projects' Women Who Care About All Children benefit. The event will take place at 6PM, Monday April 16th, at the New York State Theatre, Lincoln Center. Other honorees at the event are educator and philanthropist Lindra Andryc, national leader in volunteerism Gail Elberg, youth mentor and educator Tammye Jones, and philanthropist Nancy Taylor.

Two-time Tony-nominee Rubin-Vega (Rent, Jack Goes Boating, Bernarda Alba) was an up-and-coming actress at the All Stars' Castillo Theatre long before her Broadway success. Press notes describe her as "a valued member of the All Stars community where she continues to prioritize giving back, hosting All Stars events and inviting the inner city young people from the All Stars' programs to her Broadway shows and backstage chats with herself and her co-stars."

Now in its 26th year, The All Stars Project focuses on bringing outside of school educational opportunities to thousands of inner city youth in New York City and Newark, New Jersey. Its youth programs include the All Stars Talent Show Network, the Joseph A. Forgione Development School for Youth, the Production of Youth by Youth and Youth Onstage!.
