Roulette presents a carnival of all things experimental; the Roulette MUSICIRCUS returns for a second annual celebration of chaos and the harmonies of simultaneity. A free and fun performance event bringing together an eclectic assortment of musicians, dancers, video artists, and artists from all corners of NYC's artistic community, MUSICIRCUS presents a collage of genres and forms.

MUSICIRCUS plays Sunday, June 24, from 3 to 9 p.m. and is FREE. Roulette is located at 509 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY (2/3/4/5/A/C/G/D/M/N/R/B/Q trains & the LIRR). For more information, visit www.roulette.org or call 917.267.0368. Full line-up to be announced.

MUSICIRCUS will unfold over the course of six hours with the audience invited to wander freely and choose their own sonic and visual relationships. The event will feature an art and music booth for children, refreshments, instrument petting zoo and much more providing entertainment the whole family can enjoy. All ages welcome and encouraged to drop by and help us celebrate the end of our first, triumphant, season in Brooklyn.

First performed in 1967, John Cage's MUSICIRCUS is simply an invitation for performers to assemble and play together - a "happening" where multiple performances occur simultaneously to create new and unusual configurations..

"...seen from a particular point of view, music is simply the art of focusing attention on one thing at a time. In my works, I have tried not to focus the attention on one thing at a time, and have used this principle that I call 'musicircus'—of having many things going on at once; the simultaneity of unrelated intentions." --John Cage
